Tender procedure Standby recovery companies

Wednesday 6 April 2011
Today, Stichting Incident Management Nederland has published the tender procedure documents relating to the European tender procedure for standby recovery vehicles at eight locations for the period 1 July 2011 through to 31 December 2012. Stichting Incident Management Nederland calls upon all qualified recovery companies to consult these documents and to participate in the tender procedure. The announcement of the tender procedure was submitted on 1 April 2011 to the Official Journal of the European Union.

The tender procedure for standby recovery vehicles will take place in the framework of a pilot project implemented by Stichting Incident Management Nederland on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat. The pilot project aims to demonstrate whether the use of standby recovery vehicles can contribute to a further speeding up of the handling of incidents on trunk roads.

The use of standby recovery vehicles will be carefully harmonised with the activities of the IM recovery companies at the selected locations. The IM recovery companies affected will this week be receiving a letter from Stichting Incident Management Nederland explaining how cooperation with the standby recovery companies will be organised.
