LCM transfer to SOS International now definitive

Tuesday 10 June 2014
The National Central Reporting Point (LCM) of the Stichting Incident Management Nederland will come under the control of SOS International as from 1 April 2015. Stichting Incident Management Nederland took this decision after examining the results of the practical tests taken by SOS which has built a dedicated reporting system for dealing with LCM car recoveries. Using this bespoke tool, SOS successfully dealt with fifty car recovery reports, almost error-free.

LCM definitief naar SOS International

For each car recovery, the correct recovery operator was called out and the necessary registration was correctly implemented. The link with the Incident Management Arrival Time system (AIM) and the Electronic Incident Management Reporting System (EMI) also functioned problem-free. Based on these positive test results, Stichting Incident Management Nederland is confident that SOS is fully capable of responsibly taking over the LCM from Allianz Global Assistance.

With the arrival of SOS, a well-known face will be returning to the LCM. Together with Bauwke Kamphuis and Harry Dekker, Jan van Goor was one of the founders of the LCM, from his position at the Verzekeraarshulpdienst (Insurance Assistance Service - VHD). Until mid-2009, within the VHD, he was responsible for consultation between the LCM and Rijkswaterstaat and the police. At SOS, he is a member of the team that will be responsible for running the LCM.
