Two small companies topped the lists of quickest IM recovery operators in the third quarter of 2024. Automobiel- en Takelbedrijf Schoenmaker in Avenhorn (NH) managed to respond to 100% of call outs in a time of under twenty minutes, despite serving the district with the largest area. Schoenmaker is the sole recovery operator to do this for four quarters in a row. Besems Recovery Service in Tilburg achieved the lowest average response time of the 54 operators that are active on the primary road network.

Besems has continuously brought its response times down in the past few quarters. That means that the company was able to head the list of quickest recovery operators for the first time, with an average response time of 07.09 minutes. Besems was followed by Bergingscentrale H v.d. Vliet in Abbenes. This company has also been booking increasingly promising results in past quarters.

The ranking is limited to companies that have carried out at least 100 recovery operations in the past quarter. The response time presented for each company is the weighted average of the average response times in all the districts granted to the company concerned.
Schoenmaker had to contend with a shortage of operators for the quarter as a whole, but kept performance up to par with a combination of creativity and discipline. Managing Director Ron Schoenmaker follows the incident reports on various on-line platforms, often despatching his drivers before receiving the official recovery call-out. What's more, the company is lucky in the sense that one of its employees is based at a strategic spot in the area of operations. The driver in question takes his recovery vehicle home after work so that he can respond rapidly to any incidents in his vicinity.
